I
wipe the
soil from my
hands and stand.
Surveying the land,
there is nothing grand
to see as yet, only the
furrows of dirt still wet
from the first drink offered to this infant garden
bed. Seeds planted and placed to form an as-yet invisible
lace that will grace this space with the blooms from nature’s loom.
In their dormant state, those seeds contain innate instructions to
germinate, infiltrate and dominate the hand of space where they
land, growing tall from the place they stand. I will walk over
this patch each day to scratch away at the earth making
sure the berth equals the worth of the seeds. In
time with my feeding they will grow to seedlings,
needing the soft thudding
of water on the soil to start budding and
coiling toward the sky. Without asking of
why they will climb high and try, even if I
left them to die. I will sit in my garden for it
to smooth the hardened edges life drives into
wedges of my soul. The way a flower takes its
place in the world and slowly unfurls pearls
of beauty curling for all to see, stops
me questioning if what I am, is
less than what
I

Photos of the day

On Wednesday, Toronto media get a chance to try out the CN Tower’s new, vertigo-inducing attraction, Edgewalk. The Post’s Captain Americ-err, Steve Murray will be reporting back on an experience we have no doubt he will handle with brave, manly aplomb (and a few girlish screams). In the meantime, to hold us over until his tales from 356 metres up arrive, enjoy this primer on how Edgewalk works.

Maybe don’t sit there. Or there. Roongrojna, 54, creates his artworks from recycled spare parts from used cars, motorcycles as well as bicycles. With four shops in Bangkok named “Ko Art Shop”, Roongrojna also exports his artworks to clients all over the world.(REUTERS/Sukree Sukplang) For more of today’s best photos

【Mysterious Sunset】
It was a mysterious polychrome sunset glow. I was stunned and watching it for a brief while. Did the thick clouds which spread a little above the sea surface work as a prism? Or did the half moon overhead function somehow? Anyway, I’ve never seen such a sunset before.
The natural light show lasted almost 5 minutes. I pressed my camera’s shutter button a number of times. During the stage of developing RAW photos, I found out that the scenery changed each and every second in a subtle way. One scenery is only limited to one moment.
It might be filled with something which is too good to miss. A little laziness makes a big difference over time. I want to take another step forward even if it looks vain or needless. I think creating something new starts like that.
